We are seeking a JAVA Developer for "The Reuters Media Development/ New York branch” (http://www.reuters.com/) project The successful candidate will be a part of out agile team developing large scaleable content distribution systems for supplying Reuters news text, pictures, graphics, and videos to clients. You will use innovative technologies to develop solutions for millions of customers all over the world. This position requires working with Java server-side. Responsibilities: Develop Reuter’s media Web, Mobile and Interactive TV products using largely Java, Tomcat, Apache, MySQL, Linux and surrounding technologies. Work closely with the development and business teams in US Requirements: The candidate must have a computer science background, and strong Java/J2EE development skills. They must be able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new technologies, and be able to work successfully in a team environment. Computer Science or Applied Math Degree. Minimum 2 years of Java and 2 years of web development experience Strong analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of design patterns, development processes. Experiences with Tomcat or other servlet containers. Experiences with Model-View-Controller (MVC) web architecture using Struts or other framework Knowledge of XML, XSL, HTML, HTTP, JavaScript / AJAX, CSS Databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc) Ability to work as part of a team.
