The essence of the project in building social media applications, including blogs and blog management tools, aggregation of third party blog content, end user comments for news articles, etc. Requirements: Strong Computer Science background Must have a strong background of hands-on Java/J2EE, Perl, PHP, Linux experience Strong analytical and problem solving skills Knowledge of design patterns, development processes Experiences with Apache/Tomcat/MySQL Strong knowledge and understanding of HTTP, Browser architecture, HTTP proxies and caching Experiences with WordPress Excellent communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deliverables at the same time Fluent in English, both spoken and written Responsibilities: Develop, build and architect social networking applications for the Media division of Reuters. Help recruit, build and lead a team of developers locally for the Reuters Media group. Work closely with the development and business teams in Asia, US and Europe. Technically lead and provide guidance to team members and mentor junior developers.
