The company seeks a candidate to join a new project for a leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage. The successful candidate will develop visualization UI and some of backend integration components of a high throughput computing grid.

Requirements:

• Ability to learn new technologies, tools and concepts is required
• Good English, at least sufficient for reading technical documentation, specifications and requirements is required
• Problem solving skills are required
• Must be a good team player
• Ability to write Python 2.6 code
• Good software architecture design skills are highly desirable
• Multiplatform software development skills are required (Windows and Linux)
• Understanding of multithreaded programming is required
• Understanding of multithreading issues in UI is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Qt is highly desirable
• Familiarity with the Spyder IDE (http://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/) is a big plus
• Experience developing low-latency user friendly interfaces is highly desirable
• Experience with asynchronous messaging is a plus
• Experience with message queuing middleware, especially ZeroMQ, is a plus
• Understanding of grid computing is a plus
• Understanding of parallel programming is a plus
• Understanding of networking would be a plus
• Unix scripting, C++ programming experience would be a plus
• Experience of programming in, or ability to learn basics of any other languages is a plus
• Experience in areas of financial services, insurance, risk management, trading is a big plus
• Mathematical background, and understanding of stochastic modeling is a plus
